An important milestone has been reached today as the AGCO authorized the 250th cannabis retail store to open in Ontario. Since the AGCO started issuing Retail Store Authorizations (RSA) in April 2019, it has continued to work steadily to ensure that cannabis retail stores across Ontario can open and operate with honesty, integrity and in the public interest.

The AGCO continues to work with the Government of Ontario on opportunities to increase the number of cannabis RSAs that can be issued each month, currently set at 40 per month.

To date, the AGCO has issued 279 RSAs and 250 authorized cannabis retail stores are currently open in Ontario. View an interactive map of proposed and authorized cannabis retail stores, as well as the status of current Cannabis Retail Store applications in the province.

Please see this Information Bulletin to know more about the operation of cannabis retail stores located in public health unit regions in Lockdown, according to the government’s Keeping Ontario Safe and Open Framework.
