February 16, 2017 – In the spring of 2016, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) launched its ‘Moving Ahead: Horse Racing Regulation in Ontario’ project, directed at modernizing the regulatory rules that govern horse racing in Ontario.

Having actively engaged with the horse racing industry, today we are pleased to release our Findings Report. This report presents the issues, ideas and thoughts that were brought forward throughout the eight-month engagement process. All feedback received is being reviewed and will inform both short- and long-term policy changes.

The Findings Report may be viewed online at www.agco.ca

In addition to the report, the following items are also available:

  •  Findings Report Summary
  •  A summary of non-regulatory-related feedback.

The AGCO is committed to ensuring the integrity and safety of Ontario horse racing while reducing the administrative burden on industry participants, to support the sustainability of the industry.
