Teletheatres are off track betting locations operated by racetracks and licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
Teletheatre wagering is authorized by the Criminal Code Regulations administered by the Canadian Pari-Mutuel Agency (CPMA). Federal regulations require that the teletheatre area of an establishment must be operated by a licensed Racetrack Association and that the Racetrack Association must obtain a licence from the provincial government. In Ontario, a licence to operate a teletheatre must be obtained from the AGCO.
Currently there are approximately 61 teletheatres operating in Ontario.
