The Government of Ontario is working with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and its internet gaming (iGaming) subsidiary to establish a competitive iGaming market that fosters an exciting gaming experience while protecting consumers and keeping Ontarians safe.

This high-level roadmap aims to provide clarity to Ontarians and businesses on the province’s path to introducing a competitive igaming marketplace.
 

This timeline is an estimate and subject to change. The AGCO will be updating the dates on this roadmap as details about Ontario’s expanded igaming market are finalized.

iGaming Ontario  Engagement

During this period, stakeholders will be invited to share their insights and experience with iGaming Ontario as its market oversight model is developed. Register on iGaming Ontario’s engagement portal today.

Operating Agreement Available to Operators

Summer / Fall 2021
iGaming Ontario will make a draft Operating Agreement available to interested operators.

Registration Opens to Operators

Summer / Fall 2021
Any igaming operators interested in participating in Ontario’s regulated market will need to be registered by the AGCO registration application through the iAGCO online portal.

Operators Sign Operating Agreement

Fall 2021
Registered igaming operators who wish to be among the first group to be permitted to operate in Ontario must execute their Operating Agreement with iGaming Ontario.

Systems Readiness

Fall 2021
IT systems supporting the launch of the new igaming framework are built, configured and tested by the AGCO, iGaming Ontario and operators.

Launch of Ontario’s competitive igaming market!

April 4, 2022
Registered operators that have entered into an agreement with iGaming Ontario may start offering their products and services to people in Ontario in the regulated market.
