In accordance with the government’s recent announcement declaring a state of emergency to protect the public, please be reminded that all organized public events of over fifty people are prohibited until at least March 31, 2020.  This includes events for which the AGCO has already issued a Special Occasion Permit (SOP).

The AGCO has also taken the following additional steps with regard to SOPs:

  • New SOP requests for events with greater than 50 people expected to attend that are scheduled to take place while the state of emergency remains in effect will not be approved
  • SOP’s for events where there are greater than 50 people expected to attend will not be processed until after public health restrictions have been removed.
  • Special Occasion permit holders conducting an event where more than 50 people are expected to attend should cancel their event.  The AGCO will be issuing refunds for application fees paid under these exceptional circumstances.  To request a refund, please contact AGCO customer service at customer.service@agco.ca, or call 416-326-8700 (Toll free in Ontario: 1-800-522-2876)
