Earlier today, the government posted proposed regulations for the Liquor Licence and Control Act, 2019 (LLCA) on the province’s Regulatory Registry.

The LLCA received Royal Assent in December 2019 and sets out the legislative framework for the sale, service and delivery of liquor. Before coming into force, regulations need to be finalized in order to complete the overall liquor framework.

In addition to the proposed regulations, the government has published a consultation paper to assist the public in understanding the proposed legislative framework. The consultation paper poses questions to ensure the views of stakeholders are considered.

Opportunity for Input

The government is accepting input on the proposed regulations, the consultation questions and any additional comments or suggestions.

Individuals may download the consultation paper on the Regulatory Registry website, submit written responses in the spaces provided, and email it to alcoholreview@ontario.ca with “LLCA Regulations Consultation – Feedback” as the subject line.

All comments must be submitted by email to alcoholreview@ontario.ca, by July 19, 2021.

Questions about this consultation may be sent to alcoholreview@ontario.ca.
