The Government of Ontario announced that as of May 16, 2020, some seasonal services and activities are permitted to open, including golf courses. If you are a golf course operator with a liquor sales licensed clubhouse restaurant, you are permitted to sell alcohol with food takeout orders between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11 p.m.

Golf course clubhouses may only open for washrooms, and restaurants only for food takeout. Any alcohol sold with food takeout orders must be in a sealed, unopened container. You cannot sell an alcoholic beverage to a customer without a food takeout order.

For all key requirements regarding the sale of alcohol with food takeout orders, please see Info Bulletin No. 61.

If you are a golf course operator with a golf course endorsement attached to your liquor sales licence, please contact your local Public Health Unit for guidance on selling and serving alcohol to golfers on the playing area (including the green/putting green) and on selling and serving alcohol from mobile vending carts.

Please also contact your local Public Health Unit for guidance on physical distancing measures on your golf course.

The AGCO remains committed to protecting public safety and ensuring that alcohol is sold, served and consumed in a responsible manner. Liquor sales licensees must continue to meet all other existing requirements in the Liquor Licence Act and its regulations.
